Mobile Phones

Mobile phones which use the common European mobile phone systems GSM900, DCS1800, and UMTS can be used in Denmark.

The Danish mobile phone systems use the frequency bands around 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, and 2100 MHz. On a worldwide scale, there are other GSM, DCS and UMTS (W-CDMA) systems, which use other frequencies. Mobile phones using these systems will in all likelyhood not work in Denmark.

In order to be able to use your mobile phone while in Denmark, your local mobile operator must have a roaming agreement with one of the Danish operators.

Especially in countries outside the EU, you may experience that a local operator does not have a roaming agreement with any Danish operator. Consequently, if you are a resident of a country outside the EU, you must check with your local operator whether your mobile phone will be operational in Denmark.

Authority in Denmark:
IT- og Telestyrelsen, Holsteinsgade 63, DK-2100 Copenhagen Ø.
