Boat Hire

You don’t even have to own your own boat to explore the Danish waters, as boats can be chartered for short or long trips as required. If you are no sailor, you can even order a boat complete with skipper and crew! You can charter all types of craft, such as sailboats, motor boats and schooners. However, as a rule you will be required to prove that you are an experienced sailor before being allowed to take them out on the water.

Please note that the Select town-button starts a search for a town in which boat hire companies have boats for hire.

In Denmark there is a wide choice of boats to rent, according to one s liking. Yachtsmen are offered sailing boats, motor boats and motor sailers.
They can normally be rented on a weekly basis and are equipped with all the necessary safety and navigational equipment, plus galley installation cutlery , crookery, etc. Average weekly cost of hiring a sailing boat lies between DKr. 4.000-15.000, motor boats between DKK 4.300-9.000, motor sailers are between DKK 5.200-17.000. Prices may vary considerably on account of season and size.

According to Danish law, all boats available for hire must be approved by the Søfartsstyrelsen (State Shipping Inspection Office), and before you sign any agreement be sure that the boat has an approval certificate. A number of life vests corresponding to the number of passengers must be available onboard.

Please note that when sailing your own private boat in Danish waters, the requirements and regulations of your own home country are applicable. If, however, you rent at boat in Denmark, Danish requirements and regulations are applicable. Special requirements are applicable to motor boat sailing.
