The nationwide labelling scheme "Andersen was here"
Powerful emotions, beautiful countryside, dramatic stories – a journey in the footsteps of Hans Christian Andersen has some of it all. The writer knew his Denmark, and was a frequent visitor to many places throughout the whole country.

The Tracks
A number of the places Andersen loved so much have been selected as fairy tale tracks. Here he found the inspiration which has given us so many memorable stories.
The fairy tale tracks have been selected and described in 2005 as part of a nationwide labelling scheme called “Andersen was here – Fairy tale tracks in the Danish landscape”. The aim of the scheme is to allow lots of people to explore nature, the country and Hans Christian Andersen. A brochure about the tracks, which are signposted, has been published. Odense City Museums participated in the selection and signing of the tracks.
