Danish youth hostels are for everyone at every age. Prior to staying at a youth hostel, you are recommended to take out either a youth hostel card issued by the Youth Hostel Association of your home country or buy an international youth hostel card at any of the Danish youth hostels at a price of DKK 160.

If one does not have a youth hostel card, it is also possible to buy an international guest card valid for one night's stay at DKK 35. In addition to this amount, the stipulated overnight rate must be paid. Children under 18 years travelling with parents do not have to take out this guest card themselves, but are covered by the parents' card. Children from 14 years of age travelling alone must also have a guest card.
