Hostel card for foreign guests

If you, as a visitor to Denmark, have not purchased a hostel card through the hostel organisation in your own country, you can buy an international hostel card here. The international hostel card costs DKK 160 and is valid for 12 months from the date of issue. Children under 18 years of age, travelling with adults, do not need a hostel card.

Guest stamp
If you do not wish to purchase a hostel card, you are still very welcome at all Danhostel hostels. Instead, you simply pay a guest fee of DKK 35 per person per night. However, if you are planning on staying at hostels for more than four nights within the space of 12 months, it might pay to buy an international hostel card for DKK 160 - see above.
The guest fee only applies to persons over the age of 18, or children aged 14 or above who are travelling alone.

Where can I buy my hostel card?
The international hostel card is sold at all Danhostel hostels and at the head office of Danhostel Danmarks Vandrerhjem. You can always buy your hostel card when you arrive at the first hostel – you don’t need to have purchased the card in advance.

The guest stamp is sold at the hostels on arrival – this cannot be purchased in advance.
