Degnens Høj, Teacher's Hill

"Degnens Høj" (teacher's hill) was created in the middle of the 18th century by Hans Hansen, the teacher of Skellerup School, in order to illustrate to his pupils the hardships of the Israelites during their exile in Egypt.

The boys carried stones to the site, while the girls bore earth in their aprons. There is a fine wiew of East Funen from this hill.

On the top of "Degnens Høj" (teacher's hill) there is an elm tree.
