Frederik VII statue at Køge Torv

Splendid statue of Frederik VII in the centre of Køge Torv, with its 9,940 sq.metres the largest market square in the Danish provinces.

The statue is also much used as a meeting place for visitors to Køge.

The Market Square, Køge Torv was totally renovated in 1997 when all the cobble stones were trimmed and relaid, and Køge was awarded the Town Plan Prize for its persistent and consistent town planning policy.
A memorial tablet to this prize has been laid down in the centre of the Market Square.
