Svingelbjerg Church
South of Farsø, you can visit Svingelbjerg Church. Built in 1907, the church stands beautifully in the Himmerland landscape.
Since the Middle Ages, Svingelbjerg was an independent parish, but in 1566, the former church was demolished due to decay, and the materials from the church were used to extend the choir of the nearby Vesterbølle Church, as well as to build a tower at Lerkenfeld Manor.
The current Svingelbjerg Church was built in 1907 and serves as a subsidiary church to Vesterbølle Church. The church consists of a choir, nave, and a small tower to the west.
The fresco in the choir was painted by Niels Larsen Stevns in 1911. The entire church underwent extensive renovation in 1999. The church now stands with clear "almost" original colors.
The church is open every Tuesday to Saturday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
