The Church

Hans Pauli Olsen (born 1957): The Church from 2007 of granite and bronze. Faroese sculpturer Hans Pauli Olsen created this sculpture Kirken - The Church - to Holstebro's renovated church- and town hall square. It shows a big hand - the hand of God perhaps - offering Holstebro Church to the congregation.

In the base, Hans Pauli Olsen portrays Anders Stubkjær (1824-1902), and Morten Larsen (1851-1936). They were both leading figures in the religious revival movement of the 1800s. At their revival meetings in West Jutland they could assemble thousands.
