Aalborg

Aalborg is a multi-faceted city full of contrasts. A city with a lust for life and all of its pleasures. It’s also grand on a manageable scale with all the major city attractions within easy distance.

Laid back and down-to-Earth

The vibe in Aalborg is laid back, informal and positive, reflecting the general mood of the people of North Jutland. The onus is on enjoying life and this is reflected in the city’s countless bars, gourmet restaurants and cafés. Aalborg is of course also the best place to enjoy the locally produced Aalborg schnapps. The city’s manageable size and intimate environment provides visitors with space – and time – for each other.

A city of culture

Aalborg offers a broad range of cultural city experiences throughout the year, both indoors and outdoors. Enjoy the works of famous artists at KUNSTEN Museum of Modern Art, join the colourful street party at the Aalborg Carnival or marvel at the interesting architecture by world-renowned Jørn Utzon, designer of Australia's Sydney Opera House.

Pristine nature

Aalborg is located in the beautiful North of Jutland and offers plenty of scope for nature experiences. Why not take a stroll along the Aalborg coastline, go fishing in Limfjorden or see the wildlife at Lille Vildmose?

Journey through history

The city of Aalborg is nearly 1000 years old, and the area has a rich history that goes even further back. The burial sites at Lindholm Høje offers something for Viking enthusiasts of all ages. Aalborg Historical Museum depicts the city over the last 1000 years. Or why not go on one of the historical walks through the city?
