Golden Days

Golden Days - Søren Kierkegaard 2013, © Kontrapunkt

Søren Kierkegaard is this year's theme at the Golden Days festival. Go back in the footsteps of Søren Kierkegaard with exhibitions, concerts and events all through the city.

Golden Days is a large historical festival, which takes place in Copenhagen every year and has been celebrated since 1994.

Every festival theme covers a period in Copenhagen's history. The theme in 2013 is Søren Kierkegaard's 200th birthday.

Even if Kierkegaard's life and work today interests the whole world, he was himself a very local fellow. He was born, lived and died in Copenhagen and only went abroad a few times. He put his mark on the city - physically as well as spiritually.

Plenty of activities

More than 70 cultural institutions join in the preparations and the carrying through of the festival, which offers concerts, exhibitions, city walks, theatre perfomances and a number of special outdoor activities.
