Marselisborg Memorial Park

The Memorial Park is just below the castle grounds (Marselisborg Palace), facing out over the Bay. Marselisborg Palace and Park is during the summer residence of the Royal family.

A wonderful sight

In the Marselisborg Memorial Park there are numerous fascinating and intimate areas for you to explore. If you happen to be in Aarhus during May and June, make sure not to miss the beautifully flowering cherry trees in the Memorial Park's cherry grove. You can see a map over the park here.

Royal Family summer residence and changing of the guard

When the Royal family is in residence at the Palace, the Changing of the Guard by the Life Guard takes place at noon every day. The Palace grounds, including the Queen's rose garden, are open to the public when the Royal family is not in residence.

Memorial over World War I

A memorial wall in the Marselisborg Memorial Park bears the names of the 4,144 South Jutland Danes who lost their lives on compulsory service in the Kaiser's forces during the Great War.

The park is one of many beautiful parks in Aarhus.
