Royal Copenhagen Christmas tables
The Royal Copenhagen Christmas Tables exhibition is one of the most popular Christmas events in Copenhagen. Every year the tables are set by new artists and are on display on the first and second floor in the Royal Copenhagen flagship store.
The tradition began in 1963 and has become very popular. Six tables, each with their wonderful story, provide a creative view of Christmas.
Traditionally, well-known artists have been invited to interpret their favourite Christmas table setting. And they are free to choose from any of Royal Copenhagen’s comprehensive collection of iconic porcelain, sophisticated figurines and historical collectibles.
Holiday sweets at Royal Smushi Cafe
At Royal Smushi Café in beautiful serene surroundings, you can have a smushi – the idea of sushi, but with the taste of a traditional Danish open faced sandwich or ‘smørrebrød’.
Royal Smushi Café faces a small cobble stoned courtyard with an open air Christmas market that serves Christmas smushis and traditional holiday sweets such as ‘brunkager’, crisp, flat ginger cookies, ideal with a steaming cup of hot chocolate or ‘glögg’.
