 Begin with a visit to Hans Christian Andersen’s house in Odense. By coach to Korinth, from where you catch a vintage train to Faaborg. Visit the Voigt House, where H.C. Andersen’s great love, Riborg Voigt, used to live. Board one of the old wooden vessels and discover what sailing on the sea was like in Hans Christian Andersen’s time. Travel by stagecoach and landau to areas of outstanding natural beauty, while listening to your guide tell stories about Andersen’s many adventures. Finish this great day with a Hans Christian Andersen fairytale dinner. As part of a visit to Hans Christian Andersen’s house, or as a part of a conference or a meeting, we can arrange for participants to be instructed in the art of paper collages. One of Denmark’s most talented paper collage artists, Sonja Brandes, will entertain you with tales of Hans Christian Andersen’s paper collage talent, show examples and tell you how the fairytales were a great inspiration to her.

Knights and fair maidens welcome you to Nyborg Castle, the oldest royal castle in Denmark. Naturally, they are dressed in period costumes and the illusion of living in the past really comes alive when the guests are taken on a candlelit tour through the many rooms of the castle.
Number of participants: No upper limit, however, to get the most out of the tour, smaller groups are recommended.
Participant criteria: The castle does not have access facilities for disabled visitors. Otherwise there are no special requirements.

 Egeskov Castle – Funen´s beautiful renaissance castle is one of the island’s top attractions. Situated in the middle of a lake, it was built in 1554 on a foundation of oak. Tours are available of the castle and of the park, which includes a renaissance garden, a Fuchsia garden, a herb garden, an English garden, and much more. You can also have a tour of the vintage motor museums to look at the cars, motorcycles and mopeds.  In the meadows surrounding the Steensgaard Manor Estate, now an idyllic manor house hotel, the Jersey cows graze happily on the green grass. The manor’s dairy, “Herregårdsmejeriet” manufactures cheese, butter and curdled milk products from the beautiful animals. The very exact processes used result in fine specialties. Come and see how it all happens, try a tasty sample and buy something to bring home. It is also possible to arrange a dinner at Steensgaard Guesthouse. Experience the buffalos at Ditlevsdal Buffalo farm. Get really close to the animals from a covered van pulled by a tractor, while Yvonne Ove tells you about these great animals. In the farm’s café coffee and cake await, and you can buy meat, buffalo hide and decorative art in the farm shop.
Close to Ditlevsdal Buffalo farm you will find Langesø Estate and beautiful lake, an ideal setting for a walk. Supplement this with a visit to Glavendrup Grove near Søndersø Lake. The runic stone placed here has the longest inscription of all the runic stones in Denmark, and it was erected in memory of the Viking chieftain Alle den Blege (Alle the Pale)
On this tour of North Funen you will also pass Dallun Castle, now a convalescent home, and the part is open to visitors. Visit the town of Bogense and the charming square with the old cluster houses. Consider combining this tour with a boat trip on board the ship “Castor” of Bogense, or with a visit to Harridslevgaard, formerly known as the “Robbers’ castle” as, in the Middle Ages it was inhabited by pirates.
Number of participants: No limit – approx. 40 per coach. The safari van holds 25 people. It is possible to split large groups into multiple teams. For example, group 1 can have coffee and cake while group 2 is on buffalo safari. After 30-40 minutes the teams change.
Participant criteria: None. However, participants must be able to get into van at Ditlevsdal. Duration: 3-4 hours, depending on final programme.

 Each participants will be given a torch, and the guide takes the guests on a tour through the old town of Odense. The tour can be arranged as a shorter version of the tour ’in Hans Christian Andersen´s Footsteps’, for instance starting in the HCA neighbourhood, passing Odense Town Hall and the cathedral and ending up with a walk along Odense river. Take a walk in the cosy, old neighbourhood around Fiskergade and Præstegade, pass the harbour, the marina and up to Møllebakken. This is where the painter and miller Johannes Larsen founded his own paradise where art, architecture, rare trees and art history form a synthesis. Other painters are also represented in the exhibitions, primarily those native to Funen. From here by bus to the beautiful Hindsholm peninsula, passing Hverringe Estate and the tiny, distinctive and now protected villages of Måle and Viby.
