VisitDenmark, International Confex, and the events industry trade association “Eventia” are preparing a pioneering seminar for the International Confex exhibition at Earls Court on 12 -14 February 2008 labelled “Sustainability in Action”. Jointly organised by VisitDenmark and Eventia, and led by Mr. Guy Bigwood, MCI group Director of CSR, the idea is to introduce organisers to the concept of staging “green meetings and events” abroad.

VisitDenmark, and Eventia are preparing a pioneering seminar for the International Confex exhibition at Earls Court on 12 -14 February 2008 labelled “Sustainability in Action”. Jointly organised by VisitDenmark and Eventia, and led by Guy Bigwood, MCI group Director of CSR and board member of the Green Meetings Industry Council, the idea is to introduce you to the concept of staging “green meetings and events” abroad.
The seminar will be a two-fold event with a “theoretical” part that will include a "Ten Commandments" of practical solutions to making events more sustainable. This part of the seminar is scheduled for 10:30-12:00 am on Wednesday the 13th of February at Confex 2008 and will be a major component of the Confex seminar programme.

Following the theoretical seminar, Guy will take between 15-20 corporate meeting planners (by invitation only) to Copenhagen on a “practical” seminar to get a hands-on explanation of those "Ten Commandments" and spend the next 24 hours with VisitDenmark in Denmark to learn about CSR-policies & practices at, among others, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) and Scandic Hotels, and will get a great opportunity to catch sight of how the Danes have developed sustainable events packages for the international meetings industry.
