New nature-inspired hotel in Jutland a landmark of Danish design

The name Jørn Utzon will be familiar to fans of the Sydney Opera House, Australia. Now a striking 4-star hotel in white concrete and glass from Dane Utzon’s son, Kim, is helping to put the town of Horsens in Jutland, on the map.

The name Jørn Utzon will be familiar to fans of the Sydney Opera House, Australia. Now a striking 4-star hotel in white concrete and glass from Dane Utzon’s son, Kim, is helping to put the town of Horsens in Jutland, on the map.

The younger Utzon has brought nature indoors by means of tree-shaped structures in a 12-metre-high-lobby at the Hotel Opus Horsens. A Danish-French restaurant is equally airy and in contrast to the 132 darker, but very stylish, Scandinavian-Italian rooms. Opus is targeting travellers drawn by opportunities for golf, walking and sailing and the nearby Forum Horsens Stadium, and is also set up for conferences!
