Visit Programme

The delegates will have the opportunity to visit 'dekoren' - a typical nursing home in the central part of Malmö in Sweden. 'Dekoren' functions as a nursing home and as a group home for people with dementia. It consists of four units of one-bedroom apartments, all with own bath. the units are staffed 24 hours a day. Malmö Municipality is responsible for running the nursing home. the delegates will receive a facility tour of the nursing home and have a chance to ask questions regarding policy for elderly care in Malmö.

Approx. 1.5 hours

Outcome

Upon visiting the nursing home, the delegates will acquire an insight into the policy for elderly care in Malmö. Additionally, the delegates will have the opportunity to gain a knowledeable insight into the two social systems of Sweden and Denmark thereby learning from two countries while only visiting one destination.
