Visit Programme

The delegates will get the chance to visit a city hall in the GreenBelt area. Here, an introduction to recycling management will be given by a member of the Environmental Department. This will be combined with a visit to a recycling station in the area. Recyclng stations can be found in practically all Danish cities. They are run by the municipalities and receive all types of sorted solid waste, excluding refuse, which can be placed in ordinary waste containers.

At the recycling station, the delegates will get an on-site guided tour of the premises, meet the staff and see how the sorting of wastes takes place in practice.

Outcome

Upon visiting the city hall and the recycling station, attending the lecture and participating in the following discussion session, the delegates should be able to form an impression of the comprehensive urban waste management system in Denmark, and learn from the Danish experiences.
