Before you go

Here you will find all that is worth knowing, when you are planning your Denmark-holiday. This is where you find information on entry formalities, Danish embassies and consulates abroad, exchanges and the like.

Visitors may bring a limited quantity of spirits, wine and tobacco into Denmark. For detailed information, contact a Danish consulate. Please note that when travelling between EU member countries, it is no longer be possible to buy duty-free. For duty-free shopping in Denmark, see shopping/VAT.
The four seasons are distinct in Denmark, so dress accordingly. An overcoat and warm clothing are needed for late autumn, winter and early spring. Lighter apparel is fine for the rest of the year.
At present, no vaccinations, health certificates or the like are required when entering Denmark from another country.


For a stay of up to three months, travellers only require a valid passport. An entry or transit visa is required by some nationalities. Consult the Danish embassy or consulate in your home country for further information.
