MIND moves matters. Meetings matters! - Doing meetings differently, in an innovative and inspiring Danish way, seemed to trigger the 61 professional Meeting Planners and 11 media from Europe, US, Canada, China, India and Brazil who gathered in Copenhagen on 16-17 June 2011 for the annual “Meetings & Incentive Networking in Denmark” event.
A “MINT” Survey conducted at the beginning and end of MIND 2011, measuring the event’s Return of Meeting Investment (RoMI), showed that the attendees at MIND 2011 felt they had increased their knowledge about the destination hugely and returned home feeling very inspired, with new concrete “tools” for creating more successful business events. On top, a majority expected to place business in Denmark in the foreseable future!
MIND 2011 was based on the Danish “
Meetovation” concept which has its origins in well-documented research and experience in the use of pedagogic manners in meetings, in facilitation, i.e. what creates learning processes, as well as on how to use innovative formats and in creating healthy and energizing meals at meetings. Meetovation sums up all this and is the Danish “recipe” for how to create successful meetings with a high Return on Meeting Investment.
The Danes are very passionate about meeting designs and on creating high return on meeting investments for both organisers of and attendees at business events. Here Mrs. Anja Hartung Sfyrla, International Marketing Manager - Business Tourism of
VisitDenmark, explains:
“MIND is a unique Danish experimental or “try-out” event for the international Meetings Industry where new methods and techniques are tested.
This is important as younger generations and future meetings reek of dialog-based communication and this again changes the demands and formats for staging successful meetings.
At MIND we invite highly professional Meeting Planners to Denmark to share our experiences and to provide them with new tools for organizing even more successful meetings. Yet, at the same time Meetovation is not a “fixed” concept. On the contrary, we learn a lot from the MIND-attendees too, and thereby we continuously develop and strengthen our Meetovation concept further, which is one of the highly attractive elements of it."
And Mrs. Hartung Sfyrla continues:
"Our main goals at MIND 2011 were to create an inspiring platform for learning and inspiration, to facilitate international networking and knowledge sharing within the meetings industry, and to get the delegates to “fall in love” with our destination. And based on the feedback of MINT and other greetings that we have received from the attendees after the event, I am proud to say, that our mission was accomplished!”MIND 2011 was held for the second consecutive time and is a recurring, two-day event organised by VisitDenmark and Wonderful Copenhagen in cooperation with a number of local Danish partners most of whom are members of
Meetingplace Wonderful Copenhagen - the capital's professional network of players in the meetings industry - and trained “Meetovators”.
