Take Lead in CPH: The greatest green story (N)ever told!

Another place in town, during the recent “Copenhagen Green Week”, high-status speakers including the Danish EU Climate Action Commissioner Connie Hedegaard, Special Global Advisor, Climate Change & Sustainability – KPMG, Yvo de Boer, and Senior Editor, The Atlantic and Professor at Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto and best-selling Author and Thought Leader, Mr. Richard Florida, attended the two day conference “Take Lead” taking place at various relevant venues and sites in Copenhagen.

At Take Lead, the approx. 400 delegates from 21 countries adopted the “Copenhagen Manifesto on Sustainable Growth”, presented by the Green Growth Leaders. The Manifesto’s headline is ”The Greatest Story (N)ever Told”, because during the conference, the delegates presented a large body of evidence that the green economy is already emerging around us.

The two days of conference pointed to the significance of focusing on the benefits and potential of the transition, underlining that it will bring prosperity and progress to communities all over the world.

During Take Lead the delegates also visited green growth solutions in the Copenhagen area to gain some firsthand experience and touch green growth with their own hands, and to see how solutions can be implemented in other cities around the world.

The conference, its workshops and site visits took place at several venues in Copenhagen, including:
Copenhagen City Hall, Osram Huset, Danish Architecture Centre (DAC), DONG Energy, Copenhagen Marriott Hotel, and the Danish Wind Industry Association.
