Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers prides itself with being the first hotel in Denmark to have all its energy provided by renewable energy sources. the world’s ministers, experts and presidents in connection with the pending UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen.
For instance, water for cooling and heating is extracted from 100 meters below the earth’s surface with Denmark’s first ever groundwater-based system - saving up to 90 percent of the energy consumption used for cooling and heating on a yearly basis. In addition, all the structure’s facades are covered with ultra thin, high technology solar panels generating 170.000 kWh each year – equivalent to consumption of 55 Danish family houses.
As a result, the new Crown Plaza helps setting new and even higher standards for future sustainable hotels and it does so without compromising on the service and luxury level expected by guests. The new hotel is a 4-star hotel that strives to give a five star, green experience – without charging extra.
The interior decorating at the hotel is Scandinavian design furniture dominated by clean lines and elegant simplicity and its restaurant serves modern, Nordic cuisine made from local raw food materials.
And to top it all off, the Crowne Plaza hotel offers excellent facilities for meetings, conferences and events and is yet another proof of the wide range of hotels and meeting facilities of high international standard that Copenhagen can offer these days.
