Copenhagen… And All That Jazz
Imagine balmy summer days when locals and visitors chill out as they are simply surrounded by great sounds. A special time when both temperatures and tempo tend to rise. If Jazz is your thing, there can be no other place to be between 1-10 July 2011, than in Copenhagen.
Denmark's capital becomes Europe's jazz capital during the annual 10-day Copenhagen Jazz Festival. Copenhagen is a long-standing favourite for Jazz enthusiasts from all over the world. This year will be the 33rd annual Copenhagen Jazz Festival, welcoming hundreds of artists to perform the best of all jazz genres in the Danish capital. Clubs and small cafes are a vital part of this festival and performances start all over town in the mornings and continue throughout the day. The most internationally renowned jazz cub in the city is the Copenhagen Jazz House and other great venues are Plaenen in Tivoli Gardens and The Playhouse theatre on the waterfront.
As the jazz festival also presents daily street parades, concerts for children and late night concerts in the popular waterfront area, expect to find music in the air everywhere you go in the city. Being at the Copenhagen Jazz Festival, you will also experience a warm and friendly atmosphere between audience and the musicians and this very special intimacy so vital for creating high-standard performances and new, exciting music. Thousands of Jazz fans gather in Copenhagen in July, and the question is: Will you be joining?! For a full programme for the festival and ticket information visit the Copenhagen Jazz Festival's website.
