The colours of the autumn will soon be decorating Copenhagen, Scandinavia’s coolest capital and the colourful season brings with it the annual Night of Culture – for the 19th year presenting a sensational programme for all tastes - 14 October 2011.

Get over there and get an insight into the cultural gems of Copenhagen. There will be no less than 500 events at some 250 museums, churches, official buildings and squares in the city and all this for just £10.50! Experience the world famous Danish brewery, Carlsberg, after dark. Its space and atmosphere lends itself to great events and for this exceptional night you can enjoy anything from dance, workshops and exhibitions to viewing the magic lager cellars. At the Carlsberg Visitors’ Centre you find the world largest bottle collection while enjoying a classic Carlsberg, surrounded by music.

Happiness is … Denmark seen from above The beautifully designed Royal Library, the Black Diamond, will present a collection of aerial photos – the present day’s Google Earth. From 21.30 youwill be able to take a breathtaking flight over Denmark and see the country from an aerial perspective from the 1930’s until present day. Fond of Ice? Then you simply can’t miss the exhibition at Christiansborg Palace. It will take you to The World of Ice Designs, where you will see some spectacular ice sculptures and literally feel the ice in its weird and wonderful forms.

Go Classical… This year, the classic cultural institutes such as the Royal Playhouse invite visitors to take a look at their enormous professional "dressing up box" with costumes, wigs, hats and weird shoes. Easy to find your way around The programme for the Night of Culture is spread all over the city, and this year new easy-to-read maps will be set up to guide you around the various events and locations. The pass you buy is valid for all events at the Night of Culture and also provides you with free transport by S-train, bus and metro in the greater Copenhagen area from 17:00 until 05:00 the next morning. Passes can be bought at S-train stations in the whole region. Need to say more?
