Couple visiting an exhibition
Toulouse-Lautrec at the National Gallery of Denmark
From 17 September 2011 to 19 February 2012 you have the opportunity of exploring the work of Toulouse-Lautrec at the National Gallery of Denmark. After attending a number of art schools, the French artist, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, 1864-1901, embarked on depicting the entertainment scene before flourishing in bohemian Montmartre in Paris. The exhibition presents a wide range of his work, mainly focusing on his prints located at the gallery’s Department of Graphic Arts. Focal points include the urban space and how it stages gender and identity.

Louisiana Museum of Modern Art
Located 35 km north of Copenhagen in the town of Humlebæk, Louisiana Museum of Modern Art is
a must see for any art lover. Louisiana frames the sculpture park facing the sea and its panoramic view across the Øresund makes the interaction between art, nature and the museum architecture a unique experience.
Louisiana Museum of Modern Art is an international museum with an extensive collection of modern art. The permanent collection is one of the largest in Scandinavia counting more than 3000 pieces. The period after 1945 marks the point of departure and the collection includes artists such as Picasso, Giacometti, Dubuffet, Yves Klein, Andy Warhol, Rauschenberg, Henry Moore, Louise Bourgeois, Philip Guston, Morris Louis, Asger Jorn, Baselitz, Polke, Kiefer, and Per Kirkeby.
In addition to the permanent collection, Louisiana exhibits the work of Vija Celmins, the third artist of this year’s series Louisiana – on paper from 8 September 2011 to 8 January 2012.
