Nørgaard på Strøget i Kbh
Be prepared to find your dream clothes in this city of style, because you really will. Copenhagen is simply full of fashion shops, from the main street Strøget, which cuts through the city centre lined with top international names, to the maze of smaller streets and alleyways surrounding it and where real treasures are to be found.

With its plentiful choice of small individual designer shops Copenhagen has just what you want – and what you did not know your really wanted until you got there and was entranced by the sheer multitude of great fashion. For those in the know, the streets to head for first are Kronprinsensgade, Grønnegade, Kompagnistræde, Læderstræde and Pilestræde.
Here are just a few examples of what a Copenhagen fashion weekend can have in store for you:

For HER:

Designers Remix by Charlotte Eskildsen.
My designs are for women ‘with a lust for life and a willingness to explore their own contradictions’, says Eskildsen, who was recently nominated for ‘Best Danish Designer’ by 400 fashion professionals. Just go and experience it.

By Malene Birger
Award-winning Danish designer Malene Birger (formerly of Day Birger et Mikkelsen) started her own distinct lines in 2003. Taking inspiration from the classic styles of the ‘50s and '60s and adding a superb use of colour, her designs are elegant, feminine and highly wearable.

Lot 29
Located just a few minutes from Kongens Nytorv Square, it sells a select few high-end designer items. But first and foremost it focuses on its own range of cashmere jumpers in absolute gorgeous colours.

For HIM:

Mads Nørgaard
Nørgaard has an amazing range of ways of expression through clothing. ‘What you wear should support you in your ways and beliefs’ is his motto.

Pede & Stoffer
Fashion trends and their developments have always been the driving force behind the clothes in Pede & Stoffer’s boutiques. They serve up a wonderful mix of expensive and affordable items in a rich mixture of International and Scandinavian brands.

Bruuns Bazaar
Relaxed elegance is a key word for the two brothers Teis and Bjorn Bruun, who started their business in 1994. Today it is an international fashion company, creating a blend of classic styles and modern pieces and whose loyal devotees are rapidly increasing in numbers.
It is also worth taking a look at new and trendy Vesterbro area. This is where you find contemporary creations by many young individual designers. It is a great creative buzz about this whole area that until recently was a derelict meatpacking district. If you are into retro then the Nørrebro neighbourhood is the place for you. Go straight for Ravnsborgsgade street, to pick your finds from the ‘60s to ‘80s.

Copenhagen fashion is there through every season of the year. However, twice a year, in February and in August the city celebrates fashion in a big way. Some of the many fashion events over the five days are for trade only but there are also loads of opportunities for us ordinary fashionistas everywhere to take a glimpse at what to wear next season.
