Staying the night at a nature campsite is accomodation with no frills – the facilities are very limited; most often there is only a place for a campfire and access to running water and toilet in the vicinity. However, staying the night at a nature campsite is not only a primitive and inexpensive type of accomodation close to nature; most of the campsites are provided by farmers who will gladly show you their animals and farm and who are also pleased to have a chat with the guests. Moreover, this type of accomodation is synonymous with peace and quiet because, on average, the vast majority of the sites have less than one tent per night.
The purpose of the arrangement is to provide hikers, cyclists and other non-motorised campers with an idea as to where they can pitch their tent under the open sky. There are more than 750 campsites in the arrangement and the price for one night does not exceed DKK 15 / EUR 2 per person.
