- Location: The world's largest island lies in the middle of the North Atlantic.

- Climate: Arctic climate. Large differences between the climate along the coast and inland, and between south and north.
- Midnight Sun & Northern Lights: Northern lights appear all the year round but can only be observed against a clear night sky. In South Greenland the phenomenon can be observed from the end of August. The midnight sun is experienced north of the Polar Circle. Depending of how northwards you are, the earlier and the longer you can see the Midnight Sun. In the Disko Bay you will find midnight sun from approx. May 20th to July 25th.

- Currency: The Danish Krone is the legal currency in Greenland. There are no restrictions on importing or exporting cash. Credit cards can generally be used everywhere in the towns.
