Most camp sites in Denmark offer small cabins - some even with kitchen and own bathroom.

The standard varies from a modest cabin with the bare necessities to a deluxe cabin with all imaginable mod cons. In order to provide the best possible information on standards, the cabins are subdivided into 5 categories - I, II, III, IV, and V, with V as the top category.

Cabins are generally fully equipped, but to avoid unpleasant surprises, you should ask about things like kitchen items and bed linen when you book so that you will know if you are supposed to bring your own.

A good tip is to make a list of what you think you need to bring for your camping cabin holiday or the caravan you have rented at the camping site. In general, both the cabins and the caravans are very well equipped. But enquire with the camping site - standard equipment differs from site to site.

Things you must bring

- Cabins are equipped with duvets and pillows, but you must bring your own bed-linen
- Towels
- Tea towels
- Dishcloths

Things that will come in handy

 - Toilet paper
- Kitchen roll
- Tin opener
- Bottle opener
- Torch
- A few food products such as sugar, flour and cereals.

The camping sites often rent out items such as high chairs, cots, barbecues, TVs, ovens and similar. Enquire with the camping site when you make your booking.

In Denmark you are never far away from places to shop and your breakfast rolls should be bought hot from the baker's oven!

Prices

Prices are very reasonable – even during peak-season.

Rental prices vary tremendously, depending on the category and standard. During the peak season, most cabins (with room for the whole family) are rented on a weekly basis for somewhere between DKK 2,500 and DKK 6,000. Off-peak, it’s usually possible to rent cabins for just a few days for approx. DKK 300 per day, for the whole family. For an exact price, you should contact the campsite at which you would like to rent a cabin. It’s also a good idea to book in plenty of time because renting cabins is becoming increasingly popular.
