A large and wonderful Christmas parade led by Santa Claus will pass through the city, and the Christmas lighting will be switched on like a blanket of stars in the sky.

But, first and last, you will find good old-fashioned Christmas time in The Old Town. Taste, smell and feel Christmas as it was in the days of our great and great great grandparents with a Christmas bazaar, period shops, trips in hansom cabs and – with just a little bit of luck – a handsome sprinkle of Christmas snow.

The open air museum of The Old Town in Aarhus is made up of 75 different period houses. During the Christmas period the streets will be decorated beautifully, and 16 of the houses will be housing 35 different christmas exhibitions. It all adds up to an exciting atmosphere with a true christmassy feeling.
