Aalborg is a multi-faceted city - full of contrasts. A city with a lust for life and all of its pleasures. All the major city attractions are concentrated within easy reach. From fast-paced fun to peaceful oases. From a foaming draft beer to sublime gastronomy. From the Viking era to the Middle Ages and on to modern art.
Among the many attractions you’ll find treasures such as Lindholm Høje where you can explore the Viking Age, North Jutland Art Museum designed by the renowned Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, Jens Bangs Stenhus – a beautiful renaissance building from 1624 and De Danske Spritfabrikker (Danish Distillers) from 1881. And don’t forget to visit the Budolfi Cathedral. As the building stands today, it is the results of 800 years of rebuilding and expansion. Inside the Cathedral you can see a former Catholic Chapel with some fine frescoes.

Enjoy the concerts of, for instance, the local symphony orchestra at Aalborg Congress and Culture Centre or the wide variety of world music entertainment and jazz at Huset or Skråen. Or just be spontaneous and pop in to one of the daily live concerts in a cosy setting in the cafés and bars in downtown Aalborg. Regardless of which night you go out there are always a lot of people and an unpretentious atmosphere in Denmark’s longest bar and club street: Jomfru Ane Gade.
