Wellness - a holiday with quality

To become a Wellness Centre a location must fulfil a number of requirements for service and quality. These are decided by partners and trade people from within the industry. Once they qualify the Danish wellness places can then use the recognized Wellness-Logo. If you look out for the Wellness-Logo you will be guarantied top class quality and service.
 Since spring 2004, the Wellness quality label scheme was extended to the golf, angling, cycling and gastronomy sectors. As a result of this companies in these areas will be able to market themselves with an exclusive quality logo as a proof that they fulfil the specific requirements. It is a national initiative by VisitDenmark and the Danish tourism industry. The scheme aims to make it easier to find the best products available in each of these new sectors throughout Denmark, assuring you of a great holiday experience.
To qualify for the scheme the companies must focus on the “Wellness tourist” and at all times aim to provide a totally fulfilling experience. The company must offer top quality service, being forthcoming and hospitable in an ambience which is both relaxing and nurturing.
- Must offer a clean and inviting Wellness area with spa/jacuzzi for a minimum of 5 people. Sauna for a minimum of 10 people, steam baths, beauty and body treatments as well as indoor & outdoor recreational areas with space for a minimum of 10 people. - Must be able to offer flexible Wellness programmes (the minimum requirement being massage) suitable for the needs of each client. Instructions must be clear and easily understandable. Treatment prices must be set with a fair and balanced attitude. - Must be able to offer professionally qualified personnel for all treatments. For body-wraps and bath therapies staff are offered minimum a 5-day course incl. training in both service and sales by the scheme. The personnel must speak fluent Danish as well as being confident in English and/or German. - For queries and bookings personal service must be available at least 6 days a week. - The person on duty must be able to advice and/or refer to nearby recreational possibilities as a natural continuation to their already existing indoor Wellness offers. - The person on duty must be able to advice and/or refer to nearby restaurants serving good tasty healthy food. - The person on duty must be able to advice and/or refer to various accommodation possibilities. - Smoke free areas compulsory.
- A swimming pool for a minimum of 10 people. - The possibility for swimming in the sea or a lake nearby. Also blue flag beaches. - Fitness training, aerobics, yoga, pilates and stretching exercises. - High quality overnight accommodation. - Able to offer good quality healthy food. - To be environmentally aware with environmentally friendly interior.
These non-compulsory requirements are expected to become compulsory within the next few years.
