Copenhagen and the Øresund Region

The capital of Denmark boasts a big city pulse as well as beautiful nature. In Copenhagen, you can explore a world of fashion, design, culture and gastronomic experiences. The sights are all within easy reach and this opens up for a wealth of possible day trip combinations or even trips further away. When visiting Copenhagen, it is obvious to combine the visit with a trip to Skåne in Sweden. Skåne also offers many exciting gastronomic experiences.

Restaurants

The Øresund Region is full of charm, atmosphere and culinary experiences of all sorts. Here, you find food of Danish as well as international origin and to all budgets. Visit one of the many cafes, maybe a fusion cafe, where young artists, designers and cafe owners team up to offer food and exhibitions of among other things artworks, clothes and furniture design in one place. Or how about visiting one of Copenhagen’s 8 Michelin-starred restaurants?

Micro breweries

There are plenty of beer experiences on offer in Copenhagen and the surrounding region. All over Copenhagen, small breweries have emerged. Here you can enjoy the breweries’ special beers. Read more

Culinary Skåne

The objective of Culinary Skåne is to preserve, develop and promote Skåne’s unique culinary traditions. Read more about the project here as well as about the 27 inns which have been certified by the project for their ”genuine interest in and commitment to the traditions and development of food from Skåne, in both the kitchen and the dining room, and daily use of local and regional ingredients".  www.skane.com

Grønttorvet

Copenhagen’s largest open market, Grønttorvet, is situated behind Nørreport Station. This is the place to buy fresh vegetables, fruits and flowers and it is open from Monday to Saturday.

Øresund

One destination two countries

It is obvious to combine a visit to Copenhagen with a trip to Sweden. From Copenhagen, you can easily get to Sweden, either by train or car, via the Øresund Bridge in less than an hour.
