So come on down and join the Heart of Denmark electronic music orchestra!
5pm-7pm: DJ session with resident DJs: Nerd Sweat/ KLO/Multiplayer
During the first week the resident DJ is actually a trio, and to make it even more difficult, this trio has three artistic identities. They all have in common that they manage to combine being experimental and accessible at the same time.
NERD SWEAT (a.k.a. Søren Andreasen) squeezes untamed lo.fi sounds out of outdated toys, into smashing beats always with a great amount of improvisation. Constantly punishing machines to make them do exotic moods and rhythms with hints of nordic melancholy.
KLO - KOPENHAGEN LAPTOP ORCHESTRA (A.k.a. Lasse Munk) is an electronic one man band, an exploration of how to use the computer as musical instrument to perform improvised electronic music. It’s a game of controlled randomness. Little homemade softwaremachines are enslaved to create abstract sonic textures; tickle the listener's basilar membrane, while surfing waves of captivating beats and melodies.
MULTIPLAYER (A.k.a. Munk+Andreasen+Rasmus Kjærbo) is a collaboration format based on homemade software, where electronic music meets the format of jazz improvisation. Bass, beats and melodies are entangled, man meets machine while the performers open up to outside participation. The duo will invite local Brazilian musicians to participate in this improvisational meeting between new technology and traditional Brazilian music.
Take part in the daily challenge which will be announced on the Heart of Denmark Facebook event.
Created by Danish artist and designer Thomas Dambo, the happy wall is an installation consisting of hundreds of wooden blocks on spinners in various colours. By flipping the blocks into different patterns, you can create your own statement and really express yourself on a large scale.
You will pass the interactive Together Wall just before you exit the pavilion. The wall highlights the 7 themes of the pavilion (live together, commute together, eat together, play together, innovate together, design together and recycle together) along with UN’s 17 Sustainable Goals for 2020. Try the Together Wheel, take a selfie by the ‘Together we will-grid’, and finish the ‘Together we will…’ sentence with your own suggestion using @togetherwewill #heartofdenmark #GlobalGoals
Send a postcard from Denmark - on Ipanema. When you Stand in front of the interactive screen, it will trace your face and place you in a classic Danish scenery. Afterwards, feel free to share your postcard on social media using the Danish Pavilion’s official hashtag, #heartofdenmark, or send to friends and family.
