BLOX is a new gathering point in Copenhagen with multiple creative and cultural offerings.
BLOX is both a new destination and a new building housing a range of creative and cultural institutions. Officially opening 6 May 2018. The place will become the center of a number of new bridge connections, which are being constructed across and along the harbour. Connections tying Copenhagen and the city's harbour together. BLOX sets the settings for popular urban spaces, new harbour promenade, playgrounds, housing, fitness centre, restaurant and cafe.
BLOX becomes a place that holds the popular and the professionals. A place that is open for everyone and filled with good opportunities. The new home to the Danish Architecture Centre whith world-class exhibitions, guided tours, events, a design shop, a cafe and conference and training facilities. A place with a professionalism, that is directed towards the industry with BLOXHUB, an urban innovation hub that brings together companies, organizations and researchers to co-create solutions for better cities.
BLOX interior is being fitted, preparing for the official opening in May. But the urban spaces and the surroundings are open and since BLOX is literally spanning across The Harbour Circle it is a central focal point for everyone passing by.
BLOX is built and funded by the philanthropic association Realdania. Designed by the world-famous Dutch firm OMA under the leadership of Partner/Director Ellen van Loon.
