Fårup Sommerland

2. Billowing waves and broad beaches

A beachscape of dunes and heather heath that blends into farmland – the 27 km cycling route lets you discover the fun and adventure of open nature. Wide-open nature isn’t the only attraction. The route also passes one of Denmark’s most popular amusement parks, Fårup Sommerland, which has been ranked the World’s Third Best Family Park by the US theme park industry magazine, Amusement Today (2010-11). Here you’ll find a waterpark and plenty of white-knuckle rides. There are more family activities and accommodation offerings including log-cabin style cottages and luxury caravans at the nearby Jambo Holiday Resort, ranked among Europe’s top 5 camping sites by the German DCC Camping Organisation (2013).

Where: West coast (North Jutland, part of the West Coast Route)

The Panorama initiative

Powered by Cycling: Panorama is a new initiative that makes it easier for holidaymakers in Denmark to experience some of the best the nation has to offer. The Panorama initiative offers 26 new looped cycling routes that branch out from two of Denmark’s most scenic national cycling route - the West Coast Route and the Berlin-Copenhagen Route. The short routes have been upgraded with new cycling infrastructure and an international hospitality quality labelling system - Bike+Bed. Many of these routes offer a unique chance to explore nature, heritage and family attractions in Denmark by pedal power.

Bike+Bed quality labelling of bicycle friendly accommodation.
80 hostels, camping grounds, B&Bs and hotels are set to join the scheme in 2014.
