Welcome to Dragsholm Castle. The past, present and future meet at Dragsholm Castle, with enjoyment that brings landscape, gastronomy – and not least history – into harmony.
The castle, one of the oldest in Denmark, is in the beautiful countryside of Odsherred. Today Dragsholm Slot is restaurants, a hotel and a museum, and the setting for many parties, meetings and conferences.
The name Dragsholm means "the islet by the drag", where the "drag" refers to the isthmus that connected Odsherred with the rest of Zealand before the reclaiming of Lammefjorden.
Since 1200, the islet has been the site for a Dragsholm Slot – from the original palace and then medieval castle to the present baroque castle. We give guided tours of the castle all year round.
The hotel rooms are all in Dragsholm Slot and its porter’s lodge, each one unique and with modern comfort. Some rooms look out on the park, others on the fields, the moat, or the beautiful cobbled castle yard.
Dragsholm and the surrounding Odsherred offer the enjoyment of splendid scenery the whole year round. Our guests can enjoy the seasons, the sea, art and the castle’s fine drawing-rooms.
