According to records, this is one of the oldest churches in Thy, while also part of the cemetery called Hanherreds cemetery. As Hanherred not even had a church or cemetery at the time, they went to Hassing with their dead and buried them in consecrated ground.
The church is equipped with frescoes in the choir. In the south chancel leprosy window palmeornament. Ashlar stone with Andrew's Cross in the north wall.
