The day the pumpkin, Goliat, came alive

The city is full of pumpkins in the autumn break! Join us when only the imagination sets the limits of what your pumpkin should look like.
Happy? Angry? Spooky? Bring your own home carved pumpkin head to the town square (Torvet) and exhibit it during the whole or partly of week 42 (place it on one of th bales).

Did you know...

That in the old England they used beets at Halloween with horrifying faces to keep the ghosts of the dead away?

When the English pilgrims came to America, however, they had to find something else, as there was not enough beets in America. In contrast, there were pumpkins and today they are a bright orange symbol of Halloween.

Meet the giant pumpkin - Goliat 

During the autumn-break a giant pumpkin, named Goliat, will be exhibit on town square (Torvet).  Any idea how much Goliat weighs? Give et a go!


Labels and a drop-box for answers will be made available beside Goliat. Alternative you can leave your answer at the tourist office.

The person who has the most correct answer wins and a price will be in his or hers favour.
