Søbygaard

Visit Søbygaard - Ærø's last ducal manor house. Here you'll find experiences for all ages and lots of insight into Ærø's history.

Søbygaard on Ærø is an old manor house, which bears witness to Ærø's past as part of the Duchy of Southern Jutland until 1867.

The manor is located just outside Søby with both a medieval fortress and a bird area as close neighbours. The free bus stops right by the manor.

The barn was built by Duke Hans the Younger (1545-1622), as part of an enormous estate complex. The main building and the later constructed breeding buildings are located on two artificially created islands covered with impressive stonework.

Activities at Søbygaard

Søbygaard is a seasonal experience center open from May until the autumn holidays. Here you will find experiences for both young and old, including exhibitions, children's activities by the moat, classical concerts, guided tours and much more.

See them all on Søbygaard's website.
