The City Mill of Rudkøbing

Get up close to Rudkøbing's historic town mill – now with a new exhibition and spinning sails following restoration.

Rudkøbing Town Mill – visit it in July and August

Rudkøbing Town Mill will be open to visitors in the summer of 2025. In July and the first week of August, you can visit the mill on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 noon to 2 p.m.

During the last three weeks of August, it will be open on Thursdays from 12 noon to 2 p.m.

Come inside the mill, experience the newly refurbished exhibition and soak up the atmosphere in this historic building – right in the heart of Rudkøbing.

The mill is turning again

The mill was restored in 2024 with support from several foundations. It was reopened in May 2025, and since then volunteers have been responsible for running it.

The exhibition inside the mill has been created by the town's own volunteers and provides a fascinating insight into the history and function of the mill. The mill's sails can now spin again – when the wind and the volunteers' time allow.

A living landmark in the town centre

Rudkøbing Town Mill is one of the town's most distinctive landmarks and an important symbol of local history. During the summer months, it is kept running by members of the Town Mill Association – and you can both see and feel the difference.
