"Experience in the dark" in one of Fanø's hidden bunkers

Imagine stepping into a mysterious, dark world, where the powerful expression of art hits the cool raw walls in the deep darkness of the bunker.

In week 42, 8 very different artists and craftsmen from Sønderho and Nordby meet to transform one of the island's many historic bunkers into a spectacular art exhibition under the theme "Experience in the Dark".

Each individual artist has thrown himself into a challenging process, where they have pushed the boundaries of their own usual workflows with textile design, drawing and graphic design, painting, ceramics and sculpture.
A sensory experience where the play of light and darkness transforms and transforms spaces and works.

But this is only the beginning. The creative flame lit in the depths of the bunker will burn on for years to come. The group is already working on a new exhibition, which will be unveiled in a secret location on Fanø in 2025.

It is the artist network Arts & Crafts Fanø that has taken the initiative for the joint exhibition.

The participating artists are:

Mette Hübschmann, Carsten Munch, Rigmor Noerby Andersen, Marianne Toft,
Gitta Foldberg, Tina Kolding, Lotte Lambæk and Karen Segall.

Where - find your way:

By foot - Follow the arrows from the Tourist Office in Nordby to the Ammunitionsbunkeren - a 2 km walk.

By car - drive out along Vester Nasen - It is the last bunker on the left after the shooting range - there is a bench on top.

The exhibition can be seen:

Tuesday 15th October at 11am-4pm
Wednesday 16th October at 11am-4pm

The exhibition takes place in a dark room and you receive light to find your way - not suitable for people with walking difficulties.

Guests are encouraged to whisper due to reverberation in the "Silent Walk" bunker.
