Fossilhuntclub in Gram clay pit

Museum curator and inveterate fossil hunter Asbjørn Holm leads the group to explore the museum's clay pit - a hole in the ancient seabed - to find the fossils of the Gram Sea.

Join the Fossil Hunting Club and go on a treasure hunt!

If you enjoy digging for treasure and are fascinated by shark teeth and whales, then the Fossil Hunting Club, a new program at Gram clay pit for children and young people, is for you.

In the Fossil Hunting Club, you can immerse yourself in paleontology, just like you might be into scouting or football. The fossil hunting group is a community for children and young people from 3rd grade to 16 years. Together they hunt for fossils of 10 million-year-old sea creatures at Gram clay pit. In the laboratory and the museum exhibition, you will examine fossils from many different animals.

It's free to join in 2024 and 2025!

The fossil hunting club meets on selected Tuesdays throughout the year. There are also club days during the holidays, for example in 2024. There is room for 25 participants each time and we work in smaller groups that are divided by age.

Dates during fall break 2024:
October 14-18, 10:00 a.m. - 15:00 p.m.
