King Frederik the X and Queen Mary visit Aarhus

Denmark has a new king and queen: HM King Frederik the 10th and HM Queen Mary. You now have a unique opportunity to welcome them to Aarhus when they visit Aarhus Cathedral as their first stop outside of Copenhagen. Both the royal couple and HM Queen Margrethe and HRH Princess Benedikte will make their way through Aarhus, and you can wave to the royal family along the entire route.

The route through Aarhus

The royal couple will drive from Marselisborg Palace and continue to the service via a route that includes Kongevejen, Dalgas Avenue, Hans Broges Gade past Sct. Pauls Kirke and M.P. Bruuns Gade. Subsequently, they will travel from Banegårdspladsen up Strøget on Ryesgade and Søndergade to Bispetorvet, where the cathedral is located. HM Queen Margrethe and HRH Princess Benedikte will also follow the same route to the cathedral.

The royal couple departs from Marselisborg Castle at 13:25.

The service will be led by the Royal Confessor and Bishop of the Diocese of Aarhus, Henrik Wigh-Poulsen.

After the festive service in the Cathedral, the royal family will follow the same route back to Marselisborg Palace.

You can see the route on a map here.
