"Som jeg ser det"

The board of Vestjyllands Kunstpavillon / Arne Haugen Sørensen Museum will welcome a new event with multi-artist Leif Sylvester, who will exhibit a number of new works in paintings, lithographs, reliefs in wood and sculptures in bronze, other metal and ceramics. Many of the works on display have been created for Leif Sylvester's 85th birthday exhibition called ‘As I see it’ from 21 June to 03 August 2025 in the West Jutland Art Pavilion.

For everyone working in the Art Pavilion, we look back fondly on 2020, when a fantastic 80th birthday event with Leif Sylvester was successfully organised. With a long break in the collaboration, everyone is looking forward to working on a similar success and result.

The public can look forward to the exhibition ‘As I see it’ with Leif Sylvester's typically painterly, fresh and festive artworks. The current exhibition also shows that there is something for everyone who wants to experience something new in art and culture.

In typical Leif Sylvester irony, three of the major new works are called ‘Life is a patchwork quilt’, ‘A population with green expectations’ and ‘The snake in paradise’.
It's a good idea for visitors to look closely at the works in the exhibition, as there are many small stories built into the works. During his work, Leif Sylvester has made many observations that he has an eye for.
Our paths and detours interest him. We tend to seek each other out in groups, for example, and paradoxically, this often means a lot of conflict, wonderment and strangeness between people. This often features in Leif Sylvester's works.
The exhibition also contains a whole new idea and thought from Leif Sylvester in the form of some circular reliefs that can be seen as a kind of kaleidoscope, where the relationships between things are in motion. This is one of the many new experiences that await our guests, who are welcome to come in large numbers and will be served in the best possible way.

The exhibition can be experienced 21.06. - 03.08.
