South Denmark sea and beaches

South Denmark's sea and beaches

You’re spoilt for choice in South Jutland when it comes to calm, family-friendly beaches. There are many dotted along the Little Belt coast, the island of Als and the Kegnæs peninsula.

The Wadden Sea coast

The Wadden Sea along the west coast is an exciting national park and intertidal wetland teeming with birds and wildlife. You will not find as many swimming beaches on the region’s West Coast, but you can swim at Hjerpsted.

Wide open sand

Head to the island of Rømø, in the far south of Denmark, for the widest beaches in Northern Europe. Whether you want to walk, take part in beach sports or simply enjoy the sand with the family, these beaches are big enough for everyone.
