International Museum Day: Millions invested in Danish museums
21 April, the museum reopened across Denmark. While they have been closed, million dollar investments have been made.
According to the Danish Broadcasting Network, DR, 18 Danish museum are currently planning or have already started ambitious construction projects involving investments of over $646,000,000.
The fairy tale museum H.C. Andersen’s House will be the first of these projects to open on 30 June 2021. The reopening of the Ordrupgaard museum for impressionist art is also planned for June with a new extension by renowned architects, Snøhetta. Other grand projects in the works include a new Museum of Natural History, a complete refurbishment of the Museum of Design, the bunker REGAN Vest as well as new Technical Museum and Enigma, the new museum of communication.
