Dragsholm Castle

NB: Due to fire damage, Dragsholm Castle is closed until December 30, 2014.

Dragsholm is one of Denmark’s oldest castles. The name Dragsholm means “the islet by the drag”, where the “drag” refers to the isthmus that connected Odsherred with the rest of Zealand before the reclaiming of Lammefjorden.

Since 1200, the islet has been the site for a Dragsholm Slot – from the original palace and then medieval castle to the present baroque castle. We give guided tours of the castle all year round.

Opening hours
