Copenhagen ski slope named ‘World Building of the Year’
At the closing ceremony of the 2021 World Architecture Festival, the combined power-plant and ski slope, CopenHill, was announced as the ‘World Building of the Year’.

The iconic CopenHill opened in 2019 in the Copenhagen neighborhood of Refshaleøen and includes both the ski slope, a hiking trail, a cross fit area, a viewing platform and the world’s tallest climbing wall. Renowned Danish architect firm, Bjarke Ingels Group, is behind the project.

Nearly 500 projects were in the running. CopenHill took home the top spot in the Production, Energy & Recycling category as well as the title of ‘World Building of the Year’.
