In a time where global dialogue is increasingly challenged, the culinary world stands out. The idea that sharing a culinary language connects people across continents lies at the heart of CONVERGENCE, a 5 day global event in Denmark's capital, hosted by Michelin-star restaurant Alchemist.

Danish gastronomy stood out among the five Nordic nations, claiming 6 of the 10 newly awarded one-starred restaurants, bringing the country’s total to an impressive 37 Michelin-starred restaurants, the highest number of restaurants and the highest number of overall stars in the Nordics.

When it comes to food culture, Denmark is a known innovator with a strong focus on sustainability and the future. Our restaurants feature at the top end of the world’s best lists and have a strong showing in the Michelin guide; this year one of them is even heading to the edge of space.

For Danes, the region of South Jutland is synonymous with their elaborate cake traditions. These will be the center of attention on 30 April, where the South Jutland Cake Festival takes over the town of Tønder.

For the months of August and September, Copenhagen is inviting visitors and locals alike to participate in three big festivals: Copenhagen Cooking Festival, Copenhagen Beer Week and Tivoli’s Food and Wine Festival.
