Another award for Billund Airport
Billund Airport, conveniently located for travel to Aarhus, Vejle and the rest of Jutland, won the title of ‘World’s Best Route Developer’ at the 2019 World Routes conference
Billund Airport has won the title of the world’s best route developer in the Under 4 Million Passengers category at World Routes 2019, the airline industry’s annual conference. One of Denmark’s busiest air cargo centres, Billund Airport is also right next to LEGOLAND® Billund – Denmark’s most-visited attraction outside Copenhagen.
In 2018, Billund Airport enjoyed its ninth consecutive year of growth, passing the 3.5 million passenger mark. The airport has invested DKK 45 million in incentives to support new routes and capacity increases, resulting in a growing number of flights from scheduled airlines into airport and new routes to Dublin, Faro, Edinburgh and Krakow among others.
Billund Airport is positioned as the primary international gateway to western Denmark and its principal cities, including Aarhus, Vejle and Sønderborg.
